I'm currently practicing and improving my website design. I've build this site to show what I can do, allow people to contact me. This site was built using Notepad++. It uses xHTML, CSS and javascript to create the look you see.
I really like the colours..
For the Javascript I use the jQuery library. This is a really nice tool and I recommend having a look if you build sites yourself and are looking to add more Javascript elements.
Anyways, take a look around and feel free to email me if you have any questions. I don't currently have the time/skill to build a massive complex website. But if you are looking for something similar in size to this website, I might be able to help you out.
